India: Farmer's drumstick beats drought

BBC South Asia has this inspiring article about a farmer in the indian state of Maharashtra. This gentleman has succesfully cultivated drumsticks in his drought-prone village.

As if thats not enough he, in an effort to share his knowledge with other farmers, has authored a book called "Shevga Lagvad - Tantra ani Mantra" (which means the how-to of drumstick cultivation). He has also started a website called Drumsticks India to share this with farmers far-off.

Hey mayuresh,

Good link.

You will find hundreds of such innovators in farming sector. Myself being an engineer often get amused by sheer practicality and ingenuianity of these guys. But only lucky few get media coverage.
