Stalling Parliament costs us Rs 20,000 a minute

Here's something we've always known but hasnt been quantified until of late -Stalling Parliament costs us Rs 20,000 a minute. According to this article on rediff.com, the current Lok Sabha lost 38% and the Rajya Sabha lost a whopping 46% of its time stalling!

My opinion is that Indian politicians need to account for the time they have lost. The easiest way to factor this in is to tie it into election results :) The lost time is substracted from the concerned party's election results. That should get their attention. After all its our tax money they are wasting. If they expect garlands and fame for ruling us, then they must be ready to stand accountable from the same people.

Is the Election Commision listening?
